ICC Technical Note 02-2001 Creating ICC profiles from PDF color spaces

Last updated: February 2001 (v1.0)
Specification covered by this Technical Note: ICC.1 (v4)

Adobe Acrobat 5 creates ICC profiles from PDF color spaces as follows:

  • The CalRGB colorant values are chromatically adjusted using a Bradford chromatic adaptation matrix transforming from the white point of the PDF color space to D50. No other chromatic adaptation is done.

  • The MediaWhitePoint tag is set to the white point of the PDF color space.

  • The MediaBlackPoint tag is set to the black point of the PDF color space.

All other mandatory tags are created in obvious ways following the ICC specification of 1998.
